Swim Team – Age Groups & Prices

AGE GROUP DESCRIPTIONS:

Seniors
– ages 13 & up; meets 10 hours/week

Joining the Seniors group requires coach approval. Seniors is a practice group for motivated swimmers ages 13 & up who are focused on skill refinement and competing at the highest possible USA Swimming levels. Training includes aerobic and anaerobic threshold training, as well as regular stretching and dryland training.

Cyclones 1

– ages 11-12 years; meets 7.5 hours/week

Cyclones 1 is our top “junior” training group of competitive swimmers. The dual aims of this group are to develop strong, consistent training habits and gain regular USA Swim Meet experiences. Cyclones 1 is designed to develop proper stroke technique and introduce swimmers to training and competition. Swimmers will learn focus & development of competition & training goals. This group serves 11- and 12-year-olds who are exploring their swimming potential and preparing for high school or senior-level swimming. Cyclones 1 swimmers should be able to swim all 4 strokes legally.

Cyclones 2

– ages 9-12 years; meets 7.5 hours/week

Cyclones 2 is our “junior” training group that is mainly populated by competitive swimmers. The dual aims of this group are to develop strong, consistent training habits and gain regular USA Swim Meet experiences. Cyclones 2 is designed to develop proper stroke technique and introduce swimmers to training and competition. Swimmers will learn focus & development of competition & training goals. This group serves 9- to 12-year-olds who are ready to explore their swimming potential and prepare for high school or senior-level swimming. Cyclones 2 swimmers should be able to swim all 4 strokes legally.

Rip Tides 1

– ages 9-12 years; meets 4.5 hours/week

Rip Tides 1 is for intermediate 9- to 12-year-olds who are competitive in USA Swimming meets. Swimmers must be able to swim all 4 strokes legally and be comfortable in competition to enter Rip Tides 1. Stroke mechanics and race preparation are the aims of this group by focusing on mastering the 4 competitive strokes, starts, turns, and finishes.

Rip Tides 2

– ages 9-12 years; meets 2 hours/week

Rip Tides 2 is for novice 9- to 12-year-olds. Swimmers must be able to swim 2 legal strokes to enter this group. Stroke mechanics and race preparation are the aims of this group by focusing on mastering the 4 competitive strokes, starts, turns, and finishes.

White Caps 1

– ages 6-9 years; meets 3 hours/week

White Caps 1 is our top “mini” training group of competitive swimmers. It is designed for younger swimmers who are seeking to gain skill mastery, have varied competitive experiences, and participate in team-building activities. Swimmers must be able to swim all 4 strokes and be comfortable in competition to enter this group. Stroke mechanics and race preparation are the aims of this group, by focusing on mastering the 4 competitive strokes, starts, turns, and finishes.

White Caps 2

– ages 6-9 years; meets 2 hours/week

White Caps 2 is designed for younger swimmers who are seeking to gain skill mastery, have varied competitive experiences, and participate in team-building activities. Swimmers must be able to swim 2 legal strokes and be comfortable in competition to enter this group. Stroke mechanics and race preparation are the aims of this group, by focusing on mastering the 4 competitive strokes, starts, turns, and finishes.

Water Spouts 1 & 2 (Developmental)

– ages 4-8 years; meets 1.5 hours/week

This nurturing introductory group focuses on the development of sound stroke mechanics. This group is for those swimmers who are looking for a year-round program to help develop the basic strokes needed to become a competitive swimmer. Swimmers should not have fear of the water and should be able to complete multiple laps (while wearing fins) doing basic freestyle motion. No instructor is in the water. So if your child cannot swim multiple laps on his/her own, then please see the information on our Swim School Lesson Program.

Drop-In Swimming

Currently, we are NOT offering Drop-In swimming for the 2017-18 Season for any group other than Seniors. We may open Drop-In during the Spring Session.

 

PRICES:

Swim Team members must pay a one-time yearly Registration Fee, as well as monthly Team Dues. Competitive swimmers will also be responsible for Meet Fees.

REGISTRATION FEES:

  • Competitive Swimmers (Full Season) = $130/year
  • Noncompetitive Swimmers (Full Season) = $35/year
  • Spring Warm-Ups Swimmers (Spring Session only) = $35/year

Team Cap:  Custom name team caps can not be order at this time.  Each swimmer will receive a plain team cap

Tee shirts: Shirt availability at this time is subject to sizes left

TEAM DUES: Please see the chart below. Year-round (Full Season) swimming is listed as a per-month price for each group; whereas, Spring Session (Warm-Ups) swimmers must pay in-full. (Dues are subject to change.)
